Military Spouse Hiring Initiative

Program Overview

The Tomah Chamber & Visitors Center is proud to partner with Fort McCoy to launch the Military Spouse Hiring Initiative, a workforce development program designed to connect local employers with a talented, adaptable, and highly motivated candidate pool.

Military spouses bring valuable skills, diverse professional experience, and exceptional adaptability to today’s workforce.  This initiative is designed to help overcome the resume gaps often experienced by military spouses due to relocation, while helping Tomah area employers’ access qualified candidates ready to contribute to our community and local economy.

As many service members complete their final duty station at Fort McCoy and choose to remain in the area, this program also helps strengthen long-term workforce retention and community growth throughout the Tomah region.

Become a Pledge Partner

Tomah area employers are invited to join the initiative as a Pledge Partner.

By participating, employers commit to:

• Reviewing qualified applications submitted by military spouses with a priority lens.
• Providing an initial interview to qualified candidates who meet the minimum objective qualifications for a vacancy.

Participation in this initiative:

• Does not guarantee employment, wages, or hiring decisions.
• Allows all hiring decisions to remain solely at the discretion of the employer.
• Demonstrates a commitment to supporting military families and workforce development in our region.
